To Your Door Service

It’s no secret. I love Farm Fresh Delivery. It’s been more than a year and I still get giddy and excited on Thursday afternoon when my bin arrives. I do the Fruit, Vegetable and Grocery bin – $25 in produce plus $10 in grocery. This week I got local breakfast sausage, dry lima beans, gorgeous green beans, zucchini, bananas, potatoes, bok choy, apples, oranges, local asparagus, peaches and local oyster mushrooms. All delivered right to my doorstep!

Since my discovery of Farm Fresh Delivery, CSAs, and now growing my own garden, my trips to the grocery are minimal. I only hit the aisles of Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Trader Joes or O’Malias about twice a month, and only when I need something particular for a recipe.

Farm Fresh Delivery is always the produce and comparable prices. They source as much organic and local as they can. People who know me may have heard me proclaim that they have the best avocados I’ve ever eater. Ever.

And fear not. If you order something like milk or yogurt, it comes in a cold bag with an ice pack. And they reuse all of their packaging (if you leave it in the bin). Seriously, how did I live pre-FFD?

With your Green Savings Indy coupon you will save 50% off your first bin! That’s a minimum of $17.50, which is more than the cost of the book. If you’ve been thinking about signing up, now is definitely time to do so.

Be Mine

I’ve been holding on to this little gem for too long, so now I’ll share one of my favorite breakfasts with you. It all starts with a Valentine Hill Farm Whole Wheat English Muffin. This is not your ordinary english muffin. There are no air holes or high fructose syrup (that’s right people – read the labels. Even english muffins contain the stuff). Valentine Hill Farm english muffins are hearty and filling. And Bill bakes them the night (wee hours of the morning) before the farmer’s market. Yum.

So, I toast my english muffin (in the oven because I don’t have a toaster), add a slice or two of my favorite cheese (Cabot Chili Lime or anything from a local farmer’s market), a few chunks of avocado (the ones from Farm Fresh Delivery are the best I’ve ever had!), and a scrambled egg from a local farmer’s market (optional, cuz sometimes I don’t even need the egg).

This breakfast is so delicious and filling. Seriously, I’m not ever hungry for lunch until after noon, which is not normal for me. Usually I’m thinking about lunch by 10 a.m.

Tidy Whitey

That’s me! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from me! I had my second session with Organize It today and my desk is more tidy than I ever imagined.

We went through every single piece of paper on and near my desk. It’s interesting – I believe that more papers hit the recycling box because I had someone here with me. There’s some kind of accountability of “do I really need to keep that.” Because of that, and her vision to find the right home for everything, is truly organized in a way that I think I can maintain. Best part: I only spent $7 (plus tax) to get organized. Aside from the filing cabinet thingy I needed, everything else we used was re-used, including an old card box, a shoe box and a candle tin.

Had I attempted this project on my own, I believe I would have done about 1/3 of the job. Stefanie really pushed me to address every corner of my office.

Get this…we even still have one more appointment. She comes back in a week to make sure that the solutions we found are working and that I’m staying on track.

Be Bliss lives up to its name

I fully intended to write about Be Bliss Massage last night when I got home. Instead, I drank a glass of water, put on my pajamas, and got into bed to read my book. Yes, it was only 7:30, but I was so relaxed I couldn’t possibly do anything else.

Audrey has such a healing touch and a very caring personality. Her space is soothing, with peaceful music and a waterfall in the background. Her passion for wellness is evident with every part of Be Bliss. I’ll definitely be scheduling another appointment!

Organize It: Day 1

I had my first session with Organize It today – and she actually said my office “isn’t that bad.” Whew! Here are some before pics.

Perhaps one of our biggest accomplishments…she made me carry the recycling downstairs. It had been accumulating for a few weeks and it was time to quit procrastinating. She also had me carry all of the stuff that was waiting on the stairs to be taken to its home, which already makes me feel less cluttered! My homework is to hang my recycled cork tiles on the wall as a bulletin board, gather and find a place for all of my art projects, move my row of neglected CDs, and purchase a rack and hanging folders for my filing cabinet.

I’m really excited about our next meeting. I think we’re really going to make a dent in my desk clutter and find homes for all of the misc. papers floating around!
